Judith Ann Dilts, age 80 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024, at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Middlesex, New Jersey, December 20, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Ann (Baumeister) Scray and Eugene J. Scray, Sr. She grew up in Bound Brook, NJ, but had resided in Hunterdon County, NJ for the last 56 years.
Judith and her husband, Richard F. Dilts, were co-owners of the award-winning Poor Richard's Winery in Frenchtown, NJ, where they shared their love for winemaking with the local community before retirement. Judith was known for her passion for cooking, often infusing her dishes with love, and she took great joy in handcrafting projects. An avid knitter, she lovingly crafted sweaters for her grandchildren, creating treasured memories that will last through generations.
In addition to her love for knitting, Judith had a deep appreciation for flowers and gardening. She dedicated countless hours to nurturing her vineyard, a labor of love that reflected her commitment to her craft and her enjoyment of the outdoors. Throughout her life, Judith cultivated many lasting friendships, and her generous spirit left a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know her. Judith was a beloved figure in her community and family, remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the warmth she brought to her relationships.
In addition to her parents, Judith was predeceased by two of her siblings, her brother, Eugene J. Scray, Jr., and her sister, Bettyann Breen.
Judith is survived by her devoted husband, Richard F. Dilts, and her loving children: Michael Rampel, Michelle Podpora, Beth Tomasello, Kathy Mundhenk, and Maureen Garzoni. She was a cherished grandmother to fifteen grandchildren: Ryan, Parker, Caitlin, Cheyenne, Christina, Julia, Rachyl, Chester, Ashley, Kristen, Sarah, Danielle, Jessica, Courtney, and Alex. Additionally, Judith is survived by several great-grandchildren and her sisters, Nancy Dolgos and Jeannie Delmar.
Judith's life will be commemorated with a visitation on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ, immediately followed by a funeral service, officiated by Rev. Barbara Booth-Jarmon, beginning at 3:00 PM in the funeral home. The interment will follow at Union Cemetery, Boss Road, Ringoes, NJ.
