Julian Andrew Kotulich, age 76, died Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Country Arch Care Center in Pittstown NJ. He lived in Hunterdon County nearly all of his life.
Born on April 14, 1948, in Somerville, NJ, Julian was the son of the late Elias and Pauline (Zajac) Kotulich. He dedicated many years to working on the family farm in Reaville, NJ, where he not only contributed to the farming efforts but also developed a passion for collecting antique tractors and specialty farm equipment, which he resold. This lifelong passion allowed him to engage with his community and share his love for agriculture with many.
A graduate of the Class of 1967 from Hunterdon Central High School, Julian's personality stood out as that of a simple man, whose heart found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He took delight in relishing a cold Diet Coke alongside a bag of Lay's potato chips. He was happiest when outdoors, often reminiscing about a time when he and his brother John grew vegetables, bartering them for pizza and other favorite foods.
Those who knew Julian remember him fondly for his sense of humor. He liked a good joke and often shared laughter with those he encountered.
In addition to his parents, Julian was preceded in death by several cherished family members, including his sister, Anna Kotulich, who passed away in 1955; his brother, John Kotulich, in 2016; his brother, Joseph Kotulich, in 2023; his sister, Helen I. Lindsay, who passed away recently in 2024; and his niece, Esther Szymanski, who died in 1992.
Julian is survived by his sisters, Florence Szymanski of Warren Township, NJ, and Marion Romanoski of Bridgewater, NJ. He is also survived by his nieces, Jacqueline Kotulich, Barbara Kotulich, Laurine Gilbert, and Deborah Kotulich; as well as his nephews, Mark Kotulich, David Kotulich, and Ian Lindsay.
