K. Norma Cole

K. Norma Cole, age 90 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Sunday, August 5, 2007 in Independence Manor, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Flemington, NJ, August 24, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Amos and Mabel Van Deventer Thatcher, Jr. She was a lifelong resident of the Flemington area, and a 1934 graduate of Flemington High School.

She was a waitress for many years at the Union Hotel, Flemington, NJ; a former Special Police Officer in Flemington; and was an Avon Representative for over fifty years.

Mrs. Cole was a lifelong member of the Flemington Presbyterian Church; a life member of the Flemington-Raritan First Aid & Rescue Squad; and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Darcy Chapter.

She particularly enjoyed collecting anything involving mice.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Harry W. Cole; a son, Barry L. Cole; and four brothers: Milton, Willard, John, and Amos Thatcher III. Surviving are a sister, Janet Caulton, of West Trenton, NJ; and nine nieces and nephews.

She will be sadly missed by her family and many close friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM in the Flemington Presbyterian Church, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 7-9 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
