Kathy Bassett, age 61, of Ringoes, NJ passed on August 3, 2020 at Hunterdon Medical Center, Flemington, NJ.
Born in Flemington, NJ, daughter of the late Milton and Betty Sabo, she spent most her life in the Flemington Borough and spent the last almost twenty-three years in Ringoes, NJ.
A devoted wife, mother, nana, sister, aunt, and friend, Kathy was the poster child for patience, kindness, and empathy. Through much adversity she persisted, never allowing it to interfere with her character.
Mandy Hale said, “there is nothing more beautiful than someone who goes out of their way to make life beautiful for others” and that is what Kathy did. She had a way with those she met, inspiring them to be the best version of themselves.
Kathy was in a constant state of taking care of others, being a mother for over forty-six years and a natural caregiver her entire life.
Introverted and quiet, that did not stop her being an advocate for others. She believed all people were special and have the same value as everyone else.
She shared a love of interior and home design with many, trading home design tips and ideas often. Being in the painting, paperhanging, and contracting industry for many years, she had a passion for helping others create not only a space they loved aesthetically but a space they could flourish to be their most authentic selves.
Watching Andy Griffith, Flintstones, and Golden Girl re-runs while snuggled up with her Chihuahua, Rita, was her happy place.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Scott Sabo; brothers, Frank and Pete Sabo; sister, Krystal Sabo.
Surviving are her husband, Jim Bassett III; her son and daughter-in-law Robert and Jennifer Sabo; her daughters, Katelyn and Jamie Bassett; her grandson, Jackson; her brother, Michael Sabo; several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and many friends.
