Kathryn Rudolph Budde died at Hospice House in Williamsburg, VA on September 6th, 2013 after a brief battle with cancer. She was 64. She was born in New York, New York to Doris (Bendix) Rudolph and John W. Rudolph, Jr., and raised in Teaneck, New Jersey. She lived in Flemington, NJ for the majority of her adult life and recently retired to Williamsburg, VA to be near her grandchildren following the passing of her husband of 37 years, Bruce G. Budde. She is survived by her two children, Eric L. Budde of Williamsburg, VA and Leighann Budde Brandt of Indialantic, FL. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Stacy, and son-in-law, Ron Brandt, two brothers, John “Flip” Rudolph, III of Nashua, NH and his wife Mickey, and Peter Rudolph of Washington Twp., NJ and his wife Eileen, many nieces and nephews, and the loves of her life: her grandchildren, Ryan Bruce and Reese Elizabeth Budde.
Kathryn graduated from Gettysburg College with a Bachelors of Arts in Spanish and a minor in French, and later obtained her Master of Arts for Teachers from Rutgers University. She retired from Flemington-Raritan public schools after 27 years as a middle school Spanish teacher and occasional French teacher. She was a member of Flemington Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir and served as an elder. She later became a member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church where she continued as a choir member and elder. Kathryn was also a volunteer at Literacy for Life where she tutored English as a second language.
She enjoyed many travels throughout the globe with her husband, and later with friends. She enjoyed good food and wine with friends, good books, good grammar, and the company of her good puppy, Higgins. She was a very dear Mommy, Grammy, sister, and friend, and her warmth will be missed by all.
Viewing hours will be held Friday September 13th from 3-5pm and 7-9pm at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home in Flemington, NJ and the funeral service will be held at Flemington Presbyterian Church on Saturday September 14th at 10:30am. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ.
