Kenneth Edward McFaden, age 77 years, of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died Thursday, February 23, 2017 in Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Lynchburg, VA, February 24, 1939, he was the son of the late Mott and Maudell McFaden. He resided in Hunterdon County for the past 36 years and NJ for 49 years.
Kenneth was a retired Biochemist, working in the pharmaceutical industry for Hoffman La Roche and Johnson&Johnson.
He was a US Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam War.
Kenneth loved to hunt and fish, especially with family members. He enjoyed working with his hands and worked extensively on his houses in NJ and NC and also helped others. He collected lighthouses, enjoyed visiting them too, and was an avid train enthusiast. He was especially proud of traveling Norfolk & Western as a child with his father and riding on the 2016 - 611 Excursion trip. He enjoyed hosting his family and friends in the Outer Banks of NC, particularly his 3 favorite grandchildren. When traveling to or through VA, he loved visiting his many family members there.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Leone, Calvin, Ralph, and Herbert. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Dolores June McFaden; a son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Meggan McFaden of Milbank, SD; his grandchildren: Karissa, Jackson, and Tabitha McFaden; a sister, Linda and Frank Wood of Lynchburg, VA; and many nieces and nephews and cousins across VA and much of the US.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 5pm in the Heritage Baptist Church, 1 Autumn Leaf Drive, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be on Saturday, March 18, 2017 in Spring Hill Cemetery, Lynchburg, VA. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2017 from 4pm to 5pm in the church and a reception with light dinner will follow the funeral service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
