Kenneth G. “Butch” Sutphin, Sr. age 76 years, of Flemington, NJ, died Thursday, October 26, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Somerville, NJ, June 14, 1947, son of the late Kenneth A. and Ida Mae Frankenfield Sutphin, Ken had resided in the Flemington area all his life.
A graduate of Hunterdon Central Regional High School, he served with the NJ National Guard 1966-1972.
He was a self-employed plumber in Flemington for most of his adult life.
His biggest passion was his grandchildren, whose various activities he followed with pride. Ken was also an avid fisherman, hunter and sprint car fan. In addition, he was a Rutgers University football fan and NY Mets fan. He also loved his beloved basset hounds, “Millie Mae” and “Ellie Mae.”
Surviving are his beloved wife of fifty-four years, Anna E. DeBaro Sutphin; daughter Wendy and her husband, Dave Van Dine of Flemington, NJ his son, Kenneth and his wife, Jennifer Sutphin of Stirling, NJ; his five grandchildren, Logan Van Dine, Lukas Van Dine, Lily Van Dine, Jacob Sutphin and Emily Sutphin; two sisters, Patricia Schottman of Flemington, NJ and Barbara Mann of Milford, NJ and his brother, Frank Sutphin of Plainfield, NH.
Funeral services, officiated by Rev. Dennis Wene, will be held Monday, October 30, 2023, at 5:00 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Monday from 3:00 PM- 5:00 PM at the funeral home.
