Kenneth P. McSorley, of Ringoes NJ, age 83, died Friday, August 30, 2024 at Millenium Memory Care in Monroe Township NJ.
Born May 5, 1941 in Staten Island NY, Ken was the son of the late John and Beatrice (Reynolds) McSorley. He lived in Staten Island until moving to East Amwell Township in 1977, where he has lived since.
Ken served in the United States Navy during peacetime and was a New York City Fireman in Staten Island. Upon retirement from the fire department, Ken worked for the State of New Jesey as the Engineer of Maintenance at the Edna Mahon Correctional Facility in Clinton NJ.
In his spare time, Ken loved restoring classic cars, especially his 1958 Corvette and other Chevy and Ford vehicles. He was a member of the East Amwell Senior Club for many years as well. There were many memorable many vacations with his family throughout the years.
A plain, quiet and simple man, Ken was lover of nature. In his youth, he grew up around horses in Staten Island, and he had a love of animals that remained throughout his life.
In addition to his parents, Ken was predeceased by his brothers, Robert McSorley and John McSorley. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Patricia (Dilks) McSorley, his daughter, Jean McSorley of Flemington NJ, his daughter and son-in-law, Maureen McSorley and Hemant Srivastava of Lambertville NJ, his two granddaughters, Sabrina Thompson of Ringoes NJ, and Kaitlyn Srivastava of Lambertville NJ, his grandson, Evan Srivastava of Lambertville NJ, his brother, Dennis McSorley of Staten Island NY, his sister-in-law, Regina McSorley of Staten Island, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Ken will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822. Entombment will follow in St. Magdalen Mausoleum in Flemington NJ. Calling hours will be on Saturday from 3:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home.
