Kevin J. Chambers, age 69 years, of Flemington, NJ passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Somerville, NJ, March 19, 1952, he was a lifelong Flemington area resident.
Kevin was a graduate of the Hunterdon Central Regional High School Class of 1970. He went on to attend and graduated from the University of Arizona, where he majored in Geology. This led to a career working for the New Jersey Department of Transportation as a geologist. In 2011, he retired after twenty-five years with the state.
A history buff, he was a member of the Civil War Trust, The Gettysburg Foundation, and the Museum of the American Revolution. Additionally, he was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and loved building model train sets.
Kevin was pre-deceased by his father, Harry J. Chambers, who died in 1987, and survived by his mother, Evelyn E. Chambers.
Surviving is his beloved wife of forty-three years, Wendy M. Chambers, of Flemington, NJ; his daughter, Jennifer K. Chambers and her boyfriend, Andrew, of Feasterville-Trevose, PA; as well as close family friends.
There will be a public visitation on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, from 5:00-7:00 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Funeral services officiated by Rev. Chris Small and burial in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Capner Street, Flemington, NJ will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Kevin’s name may be made to the Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center, 2100 Wescott Drive, Flemington, NJ 08822.
