Klara M. Braun

Klara M. Braun, age 88 years, formerly of Delaware Township, NJ, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022, at The Bridges at Warwick, Warwick Township, PA. Born in Faurndau, Germany on August 12, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Wilhelm and Anna Joos Bareis. She lived and worked on the family farm in Germany growing up until meeting her husband, Siegfried Braun, and moving to the United States. She had been a resident of Hunterdon County, NJ since 1963. She earned a home economics degree and was a homemaker, taking care of her four children. Klara was known as her husband Sig’s “right hand woman”. She was also the “brains of the operation” behind their property management and restoration of historic buildings, including Flemington’s Old Egg Auction. Klara was an avid member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Flemington, NJ for over fifty years, serving in nearly every capacity there. She was predeceased by her son, Friedrich W. Braun, who died in 2007; her husband of fifty-three years, Siegfried Braun, who died in 2016; and her brother, Albert Bareis. Surviving are two sons, Timothy Braun of Delaware Township, NJ, and Stephen Braun of St. Louis, MO; a daughter, Madeline Braun-Williams of Vancouver, WA; four grandchildren: Andrew, Kaitlin, Philip, and Isabelle Braun; as well as three siblings, Willi of Faurndau, Germany, Alfred of Uhingen, Germany and Annemarie of Reutlingen, Germany. Graveside services will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022, at 10:30 AM in Rosemont Cemetery, Route 519, Delaware Township, NJ.
