Kurt Casper Goldman

Kurt Goldman, age 90 years, of Delray Beach, FL, formerly of Boca Raton, FL and Raritan Township, NJ, died on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Harbour Edge, Delray Beach, FL.

Born in Vienna, Austria, April 9, 1925, he was the son of the late Eugene and Marie Reiss Goldman. He attended schools in Europe and became a naturalized citizen of the US.

Mr. Goldman was the owner of Johanna Farms, Inc., retiring in 1990 as its Chairman of the Board. He began his career with Johanna Farms in 1944 and served as its President and Chief Executive Officer from 1975 until 1988. Mr. Goldman was a founding director of the former Town & Country Bank in Flemington and a member of the bank Executive Committee. He was a founding Trustee of the Kildonan School in Amenia, NY, and served as its President from 1969 to 1980 and continued to serve and the Chairman of the Finance Committee until present. Kurt served as Chairman of the Milk Industry Association of NJ for 10 years. He was also President of the Chalfonte Condominiums Board of Directors in Florida.

Kurt was awarded the Citation for Distinguished Service to Agriculture in New Jersey by the NJ State Board of Agriculture and was also given the distinguished citizen award by the Boy Scouts of America - George Washington Council, both in 1983.

He was predeceased by his wife, Joan Coburn Goldman in 2010, and a son, Stephen D. Goldman in 1982, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Joseph DiBianca, a brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Debby Kimmel Goldman, two grandchildren, Michael DiBianca and Michelle D’Amico, two great-grandchildren, Ella Marie D’Amico and Vincent Joseph D’Amico, and his nieces and nephews, Jill, Michael, Susan and Daniel.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at the Flemington Jewish Community Center, 5 Sergeantsville Road, Flemington, NJ, under the direction of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in the Flemington Jewish Community Cemetery, Capner Street, Flemington, NJ.

Forty-six years ago, Kurt and the late Mrs. Goldman started the Kildonan School in Amenia, NY to help children with dyslexia. Memorial contributions in Kurt’s name may be made to The Kildonan School, 425 Morse Hill Road, Amenia, NY 12501
