Kurt Otten

Kurt Otten, age 90 years, of Flemington, NJ, died Thursday, January 26, 2017, at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Essen, Germany, November 13, 1926, son of the late William and Klara Hausmann Otten, he had formerly resided in Staten Island, NY, Greenwood Lake, NJ and Naples, FL. Kurt had resided in the Flemington area since 1973.

Kurt was a house painter for many years and later was employed as a painter by the Hunterdon Medical Center until retiring in 2010.

A US Army veteran of World War 2, he served in in the Philippines and was a former member of VFW Post #7856 of Flemington, NJ.

A brother, Werner Otten, died in 2007.

Surviving are his wife of forty-one years, Berti Memmel Otten; two brothers, William Otten of Toms River, NJ and Hans Otten of Syracuse, NY; a sister, Helen Williams of Apalachicola, FL; and nieces and nephews.

Private cremation services are under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
