Laura Ella Blehl, age 88 years, of High Bridge, NJ, died Friday. November 3, 2017, at her home
Laura was born in Readington Township, NJ, August 16, 1929, daughter of the late Henry S. and Ada C. Van Doren Hart and had resided in Hunterdon County all her life.
A 1947 graduate of Flemington High School, she and her late husband, Lee Blehl, had resided in High Bridge since 1953.
A former employee of the Hunterdon County National Bank, Laura enjoyed crocheting, quilting, knitting, sewing and gardening as well as making things for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.
A member of the Three Bridges Reformed Church since 1944, Laura was also a member of the Old White House-General Frelinghuysen-Colonel Lowrey Chapter of the DAR; the American Legion Auxiliary #284 of Whitehouse, NJ; the New Jersey Genealogical Society, the Hunterdon County Historical Society and the Folk Finders Genealogy Group.
Her husband, Lee B. Blehl, died September 28, 2017 and her brother, Walter Hart, died in 1957.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Laura Lee and Robert White of Edmonton, KY, and Donna M. and James Horvath of Alpha, NJ; a son, Kevin Blehl of High Bridge, NJ; a step-son, Edmund W. Blehl and his wife, Stacy Blehl of Lady Lake, FL; twelve grandchildren, Diane L. Lessenberry, John E. Blehl, Brandon E. Blehl, David R. White, Michele M. Glass, Erin M. Brown, Stephen S. Blehl, Megan D. Blehl, April R. Ballard, Lauren K. Dolan, James C. Horvath and Samantha R. Horvath. Also surviving are nineteen great grandchildren, Anthony, Nicholas, Kassandra, John, Patrick, Jonathan and Joseph Blehl, Justin and Danielle Lessenberry, Maddox and Madelyn Glass, Marshall and Archer White, Jonas and Raye Ballard, Xander McPherson, Jillian and Jacob Abatemarco and James Horvath.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 11, 2017, at Noon in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Three Bridges Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday 10:00AM-12 Noon at the funeral home.
