Lenora M. Kurylo

Lenora M. Kurylo, age 91 years, of Ringoes, NJ, died on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Quakertown, NJ, November 12, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Delavan and Lucy Mathews.

She was a 1941 graduate of Flemington High School, then went on to nursing school for three years. Lenora was a Cadet Nurse with the Army Nurses Corps Station, Fort Dix, NJ through the Somerset Hospital during World War II. She later worked at the Hunterdon Medical Center and for physicians in Ringoes and Flemington. Lenora retired in 1989.

She was a member of Kirkpatrick Memorial Presbyterian Church, Ringoes, NJ; the Amwell Valley Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary; East Amwell Township Senior Citizens; and an original member of the Amwell Valley Rescue Squad.

Surviving are her husband of seventy-one years, Joseph Kurylo, whom she married on February 28, 1945 at Scott Field Air Base, Illinois; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Barbara Kurylo of Ringoes, NJ, and Bill and Pat Kurylo of Ringoes, NJ; a sister, Doris Bugyi, of Eustis, FL; her five grandchildren: Jessica Kurylo of Australia, Caitlin Kurylo of Virginia, Bob Kurylo, Jr. of Alaska, Tim Kurylo, and his wife Nicole, of Lambertville, NJ, and Jodi Reed and her husband, Dan, of Raritan Township, NJ; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 10:30 AM in Kirkpatrick Memorial Presbyterian Church, 37 John Ringo Road, Ringoes, NJ. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Boss Road, Ringoes, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 29, 2016 from 6-8 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
