Leny P. Leendertse

Leuntje P. (“Leny”) Leendertse, age 90 years, died Monday March 6, 2017, at Rolling Hills Care Center in Clinton Township NJ. She has been a resident of Hunterdon County most of her life.

Born March 26, 1926 in Wissenkerke Netherlands, Leny was the daughter of the late Pieter and Jacoba Blommaard Bak. She was married to the late Hendrik P. Leendertse

Leny was a farm wife, helping on her family dairy farm in Pittstown, cleaning the equipment and caring for the young cows after their birth. Proud of her heritage, she loved flowers, especially tulips, watching the Lawrence Welk show, listening to Conway Twitty, knitting, reading all sorts of magazines and completing many jigsaw and daily crossword puzzles.

In addition to her parents, Leny was predeceased by her three brothers, Piet, Jaap and Henderick. She is survived by her three children, Jackie and Thad Stutz of Milford NJ, William L. Leendertse and his companion, Barbara Lambert of Las Vegas NV, and Hetty & Joseph E. Newman of Bangor PA, as well as her two grandchildren and their spouses, Sherry and James Kosakowski of Gloucester VA, and Tyson and Amanda Stutz of Manhattan NY, and her two great grandchildren, Roan and Joslyn Kosakowski.

Viewing will be Friday, March 10, 2017 from 10 to 11 am at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington NJ. Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery in Quakertown NJ.

Memorial contributions in Leny’s name may be made to the Milford-Holland Rescue Squad, 151 Water St., Milford NJ 08848.
