LeRoy L. Apgar, age 78 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Monday, October 10, 2005 in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Lebanon, NJ, October 29, 1926, son of the late Walter H. and Norma Magill Apgar, he had formerly resided in Flemington, NJ and had resided in Raritan Township since 1985.
A Sergeant in the United States Army, serving during World War II, Mr. Apgar went on to become an Inspector at Johns-Manville Corp., Manville, NJ, retiring in 1982 after thirty-four years there.
Mr. Apgar was a member of the Johns-Manville Corp. Quarter Century Club and was a benefactor of the Hunterdon Medical Center Nursing scholarships and the Hunterdon Medical Center Emergency Services. Additionally, he was a benefactor of the Flemington Food Pantry and other local charities.
His wife, Mildred Regiec Apgar, died in 2003.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Kathy Blankenship of New Canaan, CT; a sister, Virginia Breen of Raritan Township, NJ; three grandchildren, Matthew Blankenship of Saratoga, NY, Joshua Blankenship of Los Angeles, CA and Sarah Blankenship of New Canaan, CT; one niece and four nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Cokesbury Cemetery, Cokesbury, NJ.
