Les Avery, age 79 years, of Kingwood Township, NJ, was called home by the Lord Jesus on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Isleworth, England, December 17, 1941, he was the son of the late Leslie Dalton and Lillian Mancer Avery.
Les was an active member of Zarephath Christian Church, Franklin Township, NJ. He was a committed Christian man and loved to use his skills to repair and renovate local Christian churches, when necessary. He was also the building and property chair for the Friendship Center of New Beginnings, Flemington, NJ, a Christian outreach to fatherless families.
Les worked for SRI in Princeton, NJ, for over forty years, finishing as the Director of Research in integrated circuits. God gifted him as an inventor and he had forty-four patents to his name and multiple awards for his research in semi-conductors, as well as being a co-founder of the EOS/ESD Association.
He is pre-deceased by one sister, Sandy Avery.
Surviving are his loving wife of nearly fifty-five years, Jeannie Avery; two sons, Mark Avery and his wife, Asen of Raritan, NJ and Brett Avery and his wife, Kate of Turlock, CA; three grandchildren, Jessica Kilentula Avery, Ferne Arenla Avery and Thomas Edward Anthony Avery, and one sister Iris Ross of Queensland, Australia.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 3PM in the Flemington Assembly of God Church, 434 US-Highway N. 202, Flemington, NJ. By God’s Grace, Les designed and oversaw construction of this church many years ago, so it is special to his family. Burial was held in Rosemont Cemetery, Rosemont, NJ, under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher, Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
