Leslie Pendrak

Leslie Pendrak, age 52 years, of Lambertville, NJ, died on Monday, March 21, 2005, at her residence.

Born in Yonkers, NY, she was the daughter of Robert and Florence Holzman of Avalon, NJ. She was an artist.

She received her B.F.A. from the Parsons School of Design. She attended classes at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the New York School of Visual Arts, the Moore College of Art, and the Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science. She was formerly the design director at Bluefish in Frenchtown, NJ. She had previously worked as a designer and stylist for some of the major New York fashion houses. She won awards for Best in Painting at the New Hope Arts Commission exhibition on several occasions.

She was active with animal rights issues in the New Hope/Lambertville area. She was particularly involved with the trap, neuter, and return program with ferral cats. She was a member of the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, Kanab, UT; the Alley Cat Allies, Washington, DC; and the North Shore Animal League, Port Washington, NY.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Richard Pendrak, at home; a brother, Robert Holzman, of Kenner, LA; and a sister, Karen Miller, of Wallingford, PA.

Funeral arrangements and interment will be private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
