Lillian Chilmonik, 95, of Palmer Township, PA passed away on April 23, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill of natural causes. She was born on January 19, 1925 in Bronx, NY. Lillian was the wife of the late George P. Chilmonik, Sr. who predeceased her in 1998. She lived in Flemington, NJ for 52 years before moving to Palmer Township in 1997 and lived there until her final days.
For a number of years, she was a Boy Scout Den Mother, a member of the Grandview Grange of Hunterdon County, belonged to the VFW Post 7856 Auxiliary, member of the Hunterdon County Board of Elections, and also a 4-H leader, receiving a Friend of 4-H Award. Lillian was an employee of the Hunterdon County Extension Service where she was supervising clerk before retiring in 1987.
Grammy, as most people knew her, was always the life of the party. She loved to dance. She enjoyed the opera and ballet. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Going to the movies was also a way she liked to spend her time. Grammy adored her dog Regis. She also had a great love for butterflies, gardening, collecting, reading, and traveling.
Lillian is survived by her son George and his wife Jennifer of Bethlehem, PA, son John of Point Pleasant, WV, and daughter Barbara Emery and her husband Randy of Annandale, NJ. Lillian is also survived by four grandchildren: Jason Emery and his wife Linda of North Reading, MA, Wade Chilmonik and his wife Nicole of Easton, PA, Kelli Steele and her husband Jeff of Lebanon, NJ and Addie Famularo and her husband Mario of Easton, PA. She had seven great-grandchildren: Zachary, Caitlin, Gabbie, Sean, Derek, Jack & James.
A private service and burial with her late husband and parents in Saint Magdalen Cemetery, Flemington, NJ will be held at a future date due to the public health mandate that is currently in effect.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered to the Hunterdon County 4-H.
