Linda Jane Wunder, age 65 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Thursday, January 22, 2009 while on vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Born August 13, 1943 in Cincinnati, OH, daughter of the late Charles and Mary Louise Hill Watters, she had resided in Raritan Township since 1970, having moved here from Cincinnati with her husband, Robert.
Mrs. Wunder received her B.A. in English and History from the University of Cincinnati and became a teacher. Once her first child was born, she was a full time homemaker. Mrs. Wunder was a longtime member of Copper Hill Country Club in Raritan Township and was recently a Board Member of King's Cove Homeowner's Association in Brigantine, NJ.
An avid sports fan, she was active with the Flemington Falcons organization for many years, at one point serving as the league’s Cheerleading Commissioner. Mrs. Wunder was also an accomplished seamstress and operated her own wallpapering and painting business. She enjoyed every type of puzzle, reading, being at her beach house and just being with her family. She was a longtime member of St. Magdalen Church, Flemington, NJ.
Surviving are her husband of forty-three years, Robert Paul Wunder; six children and their spouses, Robin and Ed Brand of Pittstown, NJ, Tracy and Ken Malito of Herndon, VA, Lori and Bryan Wheeler of Florence, KY, Matthew and Suzanne Wunder of Asbury, NJ, Douglas Wunder of Raritan Township, NJ and Alexander and Kristin Wunder of Raritan Township, NJ; her mother-in-law, Margaret Schalk Wunder of Cincinnati, OH; a sister-in-law and her husband, Margo and Roy Schooley of Cincinnati, OH; and thirteen grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ, under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery, Quakertown, NJ. Visitation will be Friday, January 30, 2009 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-9:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home.
