Upper Black Eddy, PA - Lorenzo Giliberti went to be with the Lord on January 12, 2018. He was born on February 22, 1927 in San Michele di Serino Italy, the son of Orazio and Lucia (Vitale) Giliberti.
Lorenzo served in the Italian Army during the 1950’s as corporal. His most memorable moment serving in the Army was the ability to meet General Dwight Eisenhower. After his service in the Italian Army, he married Ida Ballante, and immigrated to the United States. He settled in the Paterson, NJ area, and worked for many years in the textile industry. During his last ten years in the textile industry he became the Vice Chairman of his local union, #1733.
Lorenzo loved to garden, and always kept active doing various outdoor activities. He also loved going to casinos to spend some time gambling and enjoying the casino atmosphere. What he loved most was his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren, who he loved dearly.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brothers, Domenico, Pellegrino, and a sister Michelina.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Ida (Ballante) Giliberti, are his sons Louis and his wife Kate, Lucio and his wife Linda, four grandchildren, Christopher, Anthony, Amanda, and Christina. He is also survived by his brother Luigi, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Rev. Krysztof Kaczynski, will be at 11:00 am, Thursday, January 18, 2018, at Our Lady of Victories Church, 1005 County Road 519, Frenchtown, NJ 08825. Cremation will follow privately. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 10 am until time of service in the church.
