Lorna H. Statile

Lorna H. Statile, age 94 years, of Pittstown, NJ (Franklin Township) died Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at home.

She was born in Australia, June 18, 1919, daughter of the late Frederick Poeppel and Isabelle Herrity Poeppel. She married Joseph L. Statile, an American soldier, in 1944 and they came to the USA with their children in 1957.

She resided most of her life the Somerset, NJ, area and had resided in the Flemington and Pittstown area since 1996.

An accomplished ceramist, for many years she owned and operated Lorna's Corner ceramic studio in Somerset, NJ, with her husband, who died in 1995.

Surviving are three daughters, Carmela Parker of Pittstown, NJ, Toni Keesey of Flemington, NJ, and Aneeahseah Lefler of Medford, OR; a son, Frederick G. Statile of Kuai, Hawaii; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and two nephews in Australia.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 7, 2013, at 12 Noon in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Saturday 11:00AM-12 Noon. Memorial contributions may be made to Hunterdon Humane Animal Shelter, 576 Stamets Road, Milford, NJ 08848.
