Louis E. Vegh, age 95 years, of Flemington, NJ, died Saturday, April 7, 2018, at Golden View Living Center, North Brunswick, NJ.
Born in New York City, July 2, 1922, son of the late Louis and Rose Henny Vegh, he had resided in Flemington almost all his life.
A self-employed grinder, he was also a school bus driver for Hunterdon Central High School for many years until retiring.
A 1940 graduate of Flemington High School, he was a United States Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Solomon Islands and the Philippines.
Louis was a member of Flemington American Post #159; Darcy Lodge #37, F&AM of Flemington; Flemington Elks Lodge #1928 and the Cherryville Repeaters Association. Louis was also formerly active with the Hunterdon County Civil Defense and enjoyed vegetable gardening.
Surviving are his wife of sixty-seven years, Louise Rettagliata Vegh; two sons, Christopher Vegh of Flemington, NJ and Marc Vegh of Foster, RI.; four grandchildren, Timmreck Vegh, Erica Brooks, Linnea Vegh and Kristen Vegh and a great grandson, Keegan Brooks.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 12, 2018, at 11:00AM in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Capner Street, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Wednesday 2:00-4:00PM at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
