Louis J. Ricca

Louis J. Ricca, age 101 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Thursday, July 13, 2017 in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ. He lived most of his life in New York before moving to New Jersey in 1960.

Born in New York City, October 25, 1915, he was the son of the late John and Theresa (Ganzi) Ricca. Louis graduated from Stuyvesant High School in New York where he played on the Varsity Basketball team. After receiving his Bachelors Degree from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn NY, he worked for many years as a cafeteria supervisor at NYU.

In recent years, Louis enjoyed playing tennis and a game of golf.

In addition to his parents, Louis was predeceased by his sisters, Rose and Ann, as well as his wife, Yola L. Ricca, who died in 2015. Surviving are his sister, Nina Ricca of Queens NY, and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 11 AM in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in St. Magdalen Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 from 9:30-10:30 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
