Dr. Louis P. Doyle, M.D., age 79 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Friday, December 18, 2009 in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Lafayette, IN, August 19, 1930, he was the son of the late Leo and Grace Shafer Doyle and had resided in Raritan Township since 1958.
A veteran of the United States Air Force, Dr. Doyle was a 1952 graduate of Purdue University and a 1955 graduate of the Indiana University School of Medicine.
He was a practicing Family Physician in Flemington, NJ for thirty years and then was the Police Physician for the Port Authority of New York/New Jersey. Dr. Doyle was then later employed at the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility, Clinton, NJ and the Mountainview Correctional Facility, Annandale, NJ.
A member of the New Jersey Medical Association, the Hunterdon County Medical Association and the American Association of Family Practitioners, Dr. Doyle was also a member of the Appalachian Trail Association, the Citizens for Parkland, the Hunterdon Ski Club and the Hunterdon Hiking Club.
Surviving are his wife of fifty-four years, Beryl L. Manly Doyle; three sons and daughters-in-law, Lincoln and Priscilla Doyle of Raritan Township, NJ, Benn and Ann Doyle of Millington, NJ and Michael and Bonnie Doyle of Modesto, CA; a sister, Margaret Eckman of Calhan, CO; and five grandchildren, Bryon, Kelley, Beth, Emily and Molly Doyle.
A brother, George Doyle and a sister, Frances Doyle, died earlier.
