Louise Starke Regan of Ringoes, NJ, passed into eternal life on February 6, 2010. She was 89.

Born to Paul August Starke and Aloisia Kuttenberger Starke, in Newark, NJ, on August 21, 1920, she lived most of her life in Ringoes, having lived in Nixon Park, Edison Township, and Fords, NJ before moving to Ringoes in 1958.

She was quite intelligent, as shown by her skipping two grades and graduating from High School at the age of 16. She attended secretarial school and besides being proficient at shorthand, she was capable at typing 120 wpm.

She spent a lifetime of hard work, first with Prudential Insurance in Newark and subsequently in Hunterdon County as Legal Secretary for Ira Dworkin, Emmett Topkins and Thomas Beetel. She was later a medical technician for Dr. George Kurz at the Hunterdon Medical Center and while attending Rider College and earning an associates degree in accounting, worked as an accounting analyst for Western Electric in Princeton for 15 years, prior to retiring in 1985.

Ms. Regan was an active girl scout leader as a neighborhood chairman, and was a member of the Historical Society, the Flemington Womans Club, the Ringoes Grange and the Kirkpatrick Memorial Presbyterian Church in Ringoes.

An avid reader, she was active in the great book society and she was an accomplished world traveler, having visited London, Vienna, St. Petersburg, Hong Kong and other world cities as well.

She is survived by a daughter, Margaret Lyndell of Ringoes and two sons, Lawrence Cyril of Ringoes and Edward Patrick of Stockton, NJ.

Funeral services will take place Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Boss Road, Ringoes, NJ.
