Lucy Harris

Lucy Salamone Harris, age 60 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died Monday, March 6, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born April 19, 1956, in Newark, NJ, daughter of the late Jerome and Carmen Diaz Salamone, she grew up in Bellville, NJ and had resided in Hunterdon County for over twenty years. Lucy was a medical assistant for Hunterdon Family Physicians, Flemington, NJ. In her spare time, Lucy enjoyed nothing more than being with her grandchildren, taking them to the park and doing crafts with them. She also loved taking day trips to the beach and Round Valley. Everyone who knew Lucy was blessed to have heard her sing. Lucy had the voice of an Angel and had sung professionally for many years. She is survived by her husband of thirteen years, Robert Harris; two daughters, Marybeth Lucash and her husband, Joe, of Hillsborough, NJ and Rachel Enslin Butkewicz and her husband, Nick of Raritan Township, NJ; two sisters, Marybeth Salamone of West Caldwell, NJ and Barbara Nelson and her husband, Michael of Churchville, PA; one brother, John Salamone and his wife, Diana of Nutley, NJ; four cherished grandchildren, who she referred to as her “treasures”, Michael, Nicholas, Charlotte and Tommy, and all her nieces and nephews who she adored, Brooks, Danica, Corrine, April, Russell, Jessica, Emmie, A.J., Kerri, Drew, Emily, Elizabeth, Sarah, Cattie, Justin, Nick, Abby, Jason and Collin. She is also survived by her precious kitty cats, Dolly, Sal and Mona. Funeral services officiated by Rev. James DeVries will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 5:00-9:00 PM and Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 10:00 AM until time of service in the funeral home. Cremation and interment will be private.
