Madhu Vora peacefully ended his brave battle with PSP, Thursday, March 2, 2023 at home in Raritan Township NJ, with his wife Peena at his side.
Born in Jeera, India, the eighth child in a family of eleven, he was the son of Premkuvar and Hargovinddas Vora. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Saroj, Batuk, and Divya.
With a wild streak, Madhu always looked for action, adventure and risks in everything he participated in from basic yardwork, to playing with his kids and grandkids as well as riding his motorcycle (Royal Enfield back in India). He also loved traveling the world, with the many trips he and Peena took on the transatlantic Queen Mary 2. He loved the ocean and the beach and even in his older age, would not think twice about running into the shore break. His sense of humor was apparent in everything he did, including throughout his courageous battle with his disease, PSP. Madhu brought levity to any situation and brought many smiles and laughs to the room.
Madhu also enjoyed tinkering and working on things, from cars to harmoniums to appliances. In his mind, nothing needed to be thrown away because it could always be repaired.
An avid concert musician, along with wife Peena, Madhu played harmonium all over the world with several famous Indian Classical musicians. The majority of his life he was highly active in the Indian music scene and made many great relationships there.
A licensed Professional Engineer by trade, he was known to his industry peers and friends as Mark. In his 41 years with Sanofi, he developed many strong relationships with his intelligence, his communication style and enthusiasm for the design and construction of pharmaceutical facilities. He will be missed by all that had the pleasure to know him.
Madhu is survived by his wife of 50 years, Peena Vora, along with sons Raj (Erin) and Sanjay (Sudie), grandchildren Natalie, Sean, Brady, Kingston, Menaz and Matisse along with his siblings and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Per his wishes, a Hindu memorial service and cremation will be private at Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Cure PSP, 1216 Broadway, 2nd Floor, New York, NY 10001 www.curePSP.org , with the tribute to Madhu Vora.
