Manning L. Douglass, age 85 years, of Franklin Township, Hunterdon County, NJ, died on Thursday, January 20, 2011, in Country Meadows Care Center, Bethlehem, PA.
Born in Trenton, NJ, October 3, 1925, he was the son of the late Stanley and Lillie Lambert Douglass. He had resided in the Pittstown, NJ area for eighty years and was a lifelong farmer.
He was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Alexandria Township, NJ, and was a charter member of the Quakertown Fire Company.
A sister, Dale Gianforte, died in 2008. Surviving are his wife, Agnes Best Douglass; a son Mark Douglass and his wife Wendy of Brockway, PA; a daughter Donna Wasser and her husband Tim of Lenhartsville, PA; a step-daughter Lisbeth Lebens and her husband Fred of Easton, PA; a brother Merlin Douglass and his wife Joan of Tucson, AZ; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 98 Sky Manor Road, Pittstown, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemmingoton, NJ. Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery, Quakertown, NJ. There will be no calling hours.
