Margaret Elizabeth Doherty, age 91 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Saturday, January 26, 2008 in the Princeton Care Center, Princeton, NJ.
Born May 30, 1916 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Warren and Esther Boyle Gable. Mrs. Doherty had resided in Raritan Township since 1999, having previously lived in Pitman, NJ for many years.
A longtime Secretary at Glassboro State College, Glassboro, NJ (now Rowan University), she also enjoyed sewing, playing the piano, and playing and teaching the accordian.
She was a former member of Almonesson Methodist Church, Deptford, NJ and St. John's Methodist Church, Turnersville, NJ.
Her husband, Harry George Doherty, died in 1992 and a sister, Katherine Blickley, died in 2001.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Carol Ann and Edward M. Reistetter of Raritan Township, NJ; two granddaughters; eight great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Thursday from 6:00 p.m. till time of service.
