Margaret J. Mittasch

Margaret J. (“Cookie”) Mittasch, age 68, died Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Hunterdon Care Center in Flemington. Born in Somerset, NJ, she has lived in the Flemington area most of her life.

Cookie retired from Flemington Chiropractic in Flemington, after working as a nurses aid for 37 years. She enjoyed gardening, canning and crocheting, as well as taking many trips to Florida to see her friend, Rose. She was a member of the Kingwood Township Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary for more than 20 years.

Predeceased by her parents, Margaret and George Jones, her daughter, Lori Ann Mittasch, her sister, Tammy Jones, and her brother, George Jones, Cookie is survived by her friend, Jack Search of Frenchtown, her sisters, Rose Acuna of Phillipsburg NJ, and June Search of Plainfield NJ, her brother, Michael Jones of Frenchtown, her son, Ernest Mittasch of Frenchtown, and her daughter, Sherry Hagerty of Asbury Park, NJ. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 4 pm, Monday, February 17, 2014 at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington NJ. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Flemington. Calling hours will be prior to the service from 2 to 4 pm, Monday at the funeral home.
