Margaret M. Kurtz

Margaret M. Kurtz, age 82 years, died at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, September 28, 2010, in Alexandria Township, NJ.

Born in Perth Amboy, NJ, March 2, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Julia Bishansky Nagy. She was a resident of Hunterdon County for over sixty-six years.

Her life long ambition was to sing and her specialty was Opera. At 17 years old she had the opportunity to sing in Carnegie Hall, New York City, New York. With a promising career of singing in her future she instead chose to get married and have a family. Margaret then became a homemaker and was also a communicant of Our Lady of Victories Church, Baptistown, NJ. Her other special talent included silk flower arrangements and she owned a small shop adjacent to her home. Many people enjoyed her beautiful flowers.

Her husband, Frank J. Kurtz, Sr. died in 2009. Surviving are three sons, Frank Kurtz, Jr. of Frenchtown, NJ, Joseph Kurtz of New Brunswick, NJ, and Robert Kurtz of Alpha, NJ; two daughters, Suzanne Penyak and Margaret McPherson both of Milford, NJ; a sister, Anne Csedrik of Towanda, PA; and ten grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated privately in Our Lady of Victories Church, Baptistown, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in St. Magdalen Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. There will be no calling hours.
