Margaret T. Ayers

Margaret Thorne Ayers, age 98 years, of Merritt Island, FL, died on Monday, June 14, 2010.

Born in Newburgh, NY, November 28, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Margaret Fawcett Thorne.

Peggie played the piano since the age of ten and had composed many songs over the years. She taught piano lessons in "Hell's Kitchen", New York City. She also worked for the Hartley House in New York.

Her interests and talents are not to be overlooked. Her Victorian furnishings displayed artistic flare for color, balance, and design.

She entertained the residents with her piano playing at Courtenay Springs Village, FL, where she was a resident for nineteen years.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Osborn Ayers. Surviving are a daughter, Margaret Cecil Ayers; a son, Richard Thorne Ayers; and a granddaughter, Rebecca Lyne Ayers.

Garveside Serices will be held on Monday, June 21, 2010 at Noon in Locust Grove Cemetery, Quakertown, NJ, under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
