Marguerite Chambers Martin, age 101, passed away Sunday, October 13th 2019 at Wesley Enhanced Living care center in Doylestown, PA. Marguerite was born October 9, 1918 in New York City, daughter of the late Charles Chambers and Angela Imbrenda. She married Howard Martin and raised her three children, Bruce, Eric and Lynn on a beautiful farm in Kingwood Township, NJ, where she lived for over fifty years. Marguerite worked at Hunterdon Medical Center in the credit union as a bookkeeper for many years and upon retirement she kept very busy delivering food for Meals on Wheels and volunteering at Holcombe-Jimison Farmstead in Lambertville. In addition to her parents, Marguerite was predeceased by her husband, Howard Martin, her son, Eric Martin and her grandson, Lee Martin, she is survived by her sister, Charlotte Ruth Marshall of Doylestown PA, her son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Tricia Martin of Corvalis OR, her daughter Lynn Denton of Cape Girardeau MO, her grandson, Sam Martin of Philadelphia PA, her granddaughter and her husband Heather and Dave Klemmer of Kingwood Township NJ, and her two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Eric Klemmer. Marguerite loved to garden, cook, travel and meet her friends every morning for a walk on the towpath followed by breakfast and great conversation. She was always very busy and very positive and will be missed by the many lives she touched. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marguerite’s name can be made to Meals on Wheels Hunterdon County, 5 Walter Foran Blvd, #2006, Flemington, NJ 08822. The family will be having a private gathering to celebrate her life at a later date. Funeral arrangements and cremation were under the direction of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington NJ.
