Marie Dorothy Kovacs

Marie D. Kovacs, age 83, died Sunday, March 6, 2016, at her home in Kingwood Township, NJ, where she lived for the past 40 years.

Born June 9, 1932, in Keyport, NJ, Marie was the daughter of the late Francis and Olympia (Cabiati) Angello. She was married in 1952 to Zoltan “Steve” Kovacs until his death in 2014.

Marie was a school bus driver with JH Vancleef Bus Company in Belle Mead for many years. After her move to Kingwood Township, she could be found collecting Waterford Crystal and other items on QVC, or attending garage sales and flea markets. She loved to cook, but what she cherished most was spending time visiting with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marie is survived by her four children, Stephen Kovacs of Tampa FL, Alyce Whitlock of Whitehouse Station NJ, Robert Kovacs of Bridgewater NJ and Jackie Kovacs of Las Vegas NV, her sister, Patricia Yapalater of New York City, her eight grandchildren, Rachel, Danielle, Marissa, Robert, Christopher, Jason, Stefan, and Chaz, as well as her four great-grandchildren, Seth, Mason, Bria, David and a fifth expected great-grandchild later this month.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2016 at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, East Millstone NJ. Viewing will be on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from noon until the time of service at the funeral home.
