Marie E. Spencer

Marie E. Spencer, age 96 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born February 23, 1908 in Sayre, OK, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Emma Proehl Blahut. She had resided in Raritan Township for the past two years, previously residing in Cranford, NJ, Bridgewater, NJ and Hillsborough, NJ.

She was employed at RCA, Clark Township, NJ as a bookkeeper until retiring to St. Petersburg, FL, where she was an active member of Bay Point Christian Church. Mrs. Spencer was an avid bowler and golfer and enjoyed gardening.

Her husband, Howard E. Spencer, Jr., died in 1990. Surviving are a daughter, Sondra Eckstein of Raritan Township, NJ; a son, Howard E. Spencer III of Franklin Township, Hunterdon County, NJ; a sister, Aileen Jett of Paducah, Kentucky; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church, 201 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ, where Mrs. Spencer was a member. Interment will be private.
