Marie L. Worman

Marie L. Worman, age 90 years, of Flemington, NJ, died Monday, March 15, 2021, at her home.

Born in Easton, PA, September 1, 1930, daughter of the late Eugene John Taylor and Marie Margaret Bennett Taylor, Marie had resided in the Flemington area most of her life.

A 1948 graduate of Flemington High School, she was an athlete who was Captain of the Women’s Basketball Team. She was employed by Hunterdon Medical Center where she served as Head of the Admissions Offices for many years and when she retired in 2019, she was the Hospital Registrar. Her career there spanned sixty-five years (1954-2019).

Marie enjoyed the Jersey Shore and was a natural comedienne and performer especially for those who knew her well. She was also a communicant of St. Magdalen Roman Catholic Church, Flemington, NJ.

Her husband, Austin S. Worman, died in 1989. She was also predeceased by her daughters, Michelle Jordan, who died in 2002, and Melissa Worman, who died in 2017, as well as her granddaughters, Meagan Jordan in 2014 and Marie Jordan in February of 2021. She was also pre-deceased by her brothers, Donald Taylor and Eugene Taylor.

Surviving are four children, Michael F. Worman of Nutley, NJ, Maureen Luster of Flemington, NJ, Austin T. Worman of Flemington, NJ and Michele T. Worman of Flemington, NJ; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Louise Maddalena of Flemington, NJ and a brother, Robert Taylor of Flemington, NJ.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 26, 2021, at 10:00 AM in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in St. Magdalen Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 25, 2021, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
