Marie Varadi Dickenson

Marie Varadi Dickenson, age 83 years, died Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at her home in Raritan Township NJ.

Born March 6, 1933, in Elizabeth NJ, Marie was the daughter of the late Frank and Nancy (Minotta) Larate. She was raised and lived in Rahway until eventually moving to Hunterdon County nearly 30 years ago. She lived in Califon, NJ for more than 25 years before moving to Flemington two years ago.

A homemaker, Marie loved traveling, dancing, jazz music and spending time at the beach. She enjoyed spending time with close friends, especially going out for lunch and dinner, and loved watching old classic movies on television. The time she enjoyed the most was with her family and her five grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Marie was predeceased by her two husbands, Michael Varadi in 1980, and John Dickenson in 2011. She is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Gus Kayalo of Plainfield NJ, Michelle and Steve Junay of Barnegat NJ, and Jennifer and Joe Giordano of Ringoes NJ, her five grandchildren, Ashley Kayalo Galan and her husband, Daniel, Emily Kayalo, Jessie Kayalo, Alexa Giordano and Justin Giordano, as well as her sister, Fran Shannon of Freehold NJ.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 4, 2016 at St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington NJ. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery on Madison Hill Road in Clark NJ. Calling hour will be Friday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822.
