After graduating from Commerce and working as a secretary she met her sweetheart Alexander Patrylo while having a soda at shop outside Westover Air Force Base where Alex was stationed in the Air Force. After a whirlwind romance they were married on January 14th 1961. This romance lasted 53 years, producing four wonderful children and four loving grandchildren.
Marilyn had many skills and hobbies that made her life meaningful to those that knew her. She worked as a waitress for many years, worked at the Hunterdon County Democrat, and finally as an office manger for Systematic Financial services in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey before retiring.
During her retirement Alex and Marilyn loved to create crafts and go to craft shows all over the East coast to sell their creations and most importantly meeting many wonderful people along the way. Their last big project was creating an ETSY site because she had gotten too weak to attend shows to sell their crafts.
Her favorite times were spent listening to her Celtic music while crafting, and looking out at her beautiful flower gardens, bird watching and competing with her neighbor as to when the first hummingbirds showed up for the season. Marilyn also enjoyed going to see many concerts such as Rod Stewart, Wynonna Judd and her absolute favorite two bands Celtic Thunder and Celtic Woman! Marilyn enjoyed travelling, camping, gardening, singing, knitting and the saving the best for last-loving and caring for all of her furry friends throughout the years!
