Marilyn V. Smith, age 75 years, of Stockton, NJ, died on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in East Orange, NJ, June 21, 1935, daughter of the late Ralph W. and Gladys Irene Diveny Van Nostrand, she had resided in Stockton for the past fifteen years, having formerly lived many years in Livingston and Florham Park, NJ.
A homemaker, she was also formerly a third grade teacher.
For many years, Mrs. Smith was a volunteer at Cheshire Home, Florham Park, NJ. Additionally, she volunteerd with Hunterdon Meals on Wheels and the Lambertville Soup Kitchen.
A member of the United Methodist Church, Sergeantsville, NJ, she also belonged to the Hunterdon County Senior Chorus and was an attendee of the Living Waters Lutheran Church, Ringoes, NJ.
Surviving are her husband, Richard A. Smith; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Carl Weichert of San Francisco, CA and Jeff and Phyllis Weichert of Pennington, NJ; a step-son, Gregory Smith and his wife, Linda, of Hampton, NJ; a sister-in-law, Dolores Van Nostrand of Louisville, KY; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Living Waters Lutheran Church, Old York Road, Ringoes, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, Rosemont, NJ. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the church.
