Marion E. Staats, age 94 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at her residence.
Born in East Amwell Township, NJ, January 3, 1915, she was the daughter of the late John B. and Elizabeth Jessen Staats. She resided in the Ringoes, NJ area all of her life.
A retired teacher, she formerly taught for more than fifty years in New Jersey public schools, and then established Glad Tidings Christian Day School, Locktown, NJ. She was a beloved teacher to many teachers and students.
Miss Staats had longtime affiliations with Calvary Presbyterian Church of Amwell and the Locktown Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are two sisters, Gladys M. Staats of Ringoes, NJ, and Anna Fullerton of Concord, CA; a brother, John P. Staats of Ringoes, NJ; two nieces, Barbara Salama and Susan Fullerton; and two nephews, John R. Staats and Robert Fullerton.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 AM in the Calvary Presbyterian Church of Amwell, Highway 202/31, Ringoes, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Amwell Ridge Cemetery, Larison's Corner, NJ. There will be calling hours on Monday from 10:30 AM until time of service in the church.
