Marion Gasior, was born on July 7, 1928 in Nuremberg, Germany. She lived in Raritan Township, NJ, for the past 59 years. Marion passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at the age of 92.
Marion immigrated to the United States from Germany shortly after the end of WW II. She was newly married and did not speak English but was determined to start anew and live a good life. Both she and her husband, Ted, worked various jobs. Soon after, they brought Marion’s mother over from Germany as she was having health issues. Marion's dedication to raising her daughters and caring for her family was most important to her.
Marion was a homemaker. She enjoyed home cooked meals with her family gathering around the dining room table celebrating birthdays, holidays or just a normal weekday.
She enjoyed family vacations by the Maine seashore and hiking in Acadia National Park, New Hampshire and Colorado.
Marion also enjoyed observing nature from her big picture window. She knew each bird by its song and always had fresh nectar for the hummingbirds when they returned each summer.
Marion was the daughter of the late Richard and Marie Portzel Doerr. She is pre-deceased by her husband Tadeusz Gasior in 2011 and one brother Eduard Doerr.
She is survived by her two daughters, Victoria Smith and her husband, Michael of Whitehouse Station, NJ and Eva Bernosky of Flemington, NJ, one niece, Marion Boettcher of Germany and many friends and neighbors. Marion will always be remembered for having a beautiful smile and a gracious and generous heart. She has touched the lives of so many over the years and will be greatly missed.
A graveside service will be held privately in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ, under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
Memorial contributions in Marion’s name may be made to the Salvation Army Flemington Corps, 40 E Main St, Flemington, NJ 08822 or Disabled American Veterans Charity, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
