Marion E. Smith

April 29, 1937 — December 25, 2024

Delaware Township, NJ

Marion Emma Smith went home to be with the Lord on December 25, 2024.

Born on April 29, 1937, in Baltimore, MD, Marion dedicated her life to serving others. Marion had a warm and nurturing spirit, which resonated with everyone she encountered. She was a great cook, delighting her family and friends with her famous apple pie. Marion was a lifelong Yankees fan buying a few cars because Jeter endorsed it. An avid golfer she and Roland would play in NJ in the spring, summer, and fall then relocate to Florida to play golf for the winter.

A long-time member of the Newcomers, The Delaware Township Seniors, and the South Ridge Community Church in Clinton, NJ, Marion contributed to her faith through active participation in Bible Study groups at both Flemington Presbyterian Church and CBS Bible Study. Marion’s faith guided her life and it was evident through her loving and warm-hearted attitude.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda MacMullen; her son and daughter-in-law, Roland Edward Smith III and Marie Smith; her son and daughter-in-law, Brian and JoAnn Smith; and her daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Steven Lojek. Marion also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Amy Loutrel (Nathan), Bethany Weissinger, Christy Stack (Michael), Darby Albright (Cory), Anthony Smith (Carmella), Nicholas Smith, Julianna Smith, Jeffrey Smith, Meagan Sharpe (Anthony), Morgan Brown (Kevin), and Mandy Lojek. Along with a host of great-grandchildren: Benjamin, Emma, Emilia, Alexia, Lilly, Ethan, Christian, Chase, Chloe, Makayla, Blake, Natalia, Makenzie, Jonathan, Michael, Madelyn, and James.

Marion was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roland Edward Smith Jr., in 2008. She also mourned the loss of her father, Frelan Emerson Sparks; her mother, Frances (Caton) Sparks; her brothers, Richard and Emerson Sparks; and her sisters, Jane Sand and Katherine Paris, and son-in-law John MacMullen

Marion will be deeply missed by her family and friends, whose lives she touched with her wisdom, love, and kindness. Her legacy of faith and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew her. As she always said “Keep calm and carry on.” “I will be remembered for my love for Jesus.”
