Marjorie R. Lambert passed away peacefully on Friday March 27 2015 at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis Trenton, N.J. due to complications from the devastating effects of a two-year battle with Stage 4 liver and colon cancer. She was 67. Margie was born in Doylestown Pa and raised in Mt. Airy N.J.
Cancer is a relentless, comprehensive, merciless enemy. Since she was diagnosed already at Stage 4, she never really had a chance. Nonetheless, she fought it with spirit, conviction, and courage of such that she impressed the staff, technicians, nurses, and doctors at every hospital where she received tests, procedures, or treatment
Her beloved parents, Stanley and Ruth Lambert, predecease Margie.
She will be greatly missed by her loving companion of forty years, Rick Wolfe. He loved her more than life itself. He is filled with gratitude and appreciation for the life that she shared with him.
Margie’s beloved daughter Jennifer Kopp and granddaughters, Elizabeth and Michaela Kopp, will miss her as they get to always cherish their memories of this warm, funny, outgoing, positive and cheerful individual. They remember it was as if good times were guaranteed when she came to visit, plus, what other kids get to call their Grandmother, MargeParge.
Her siblings; Martha Shea of Mt. Airy, Barbara Mowery and husband Jack Kilmer of Flemington, Russell Lambert, his wife Benedetta, and their son Russell Lambert,Jr. of Lambertville, will share happy recollections and stories for the rest of their lives of their smiling, happy, courageous sister.
Her niece, Beth Mowery, with partner Cathy West of Hainesport, remembers “Aunt” Margie as someone who was great fun to be with and, that laughter and smiling always seemed be part of whatever activity they were engaged in. With their somewhat minor difference in age Margie was in a lot of ways more like a really cool older sister than an aunt. Beth also remembers the positive encouragement and unqualified love that was a given.
Uncle Ernie, Earnest Warner of Stockton, was always a favorite, and the feeling was mutual.
Margie was an avid runner and won many ribbons and trophies competing in local 5K races, nights and weekends, for various charitable causes. She said she ran for the pure enjoyment of it but the walls and shelves packed with trophies and ribbons belies the fact that the heart of a true competitor beat inside of her and once the gun went off there was only one place she intended to finish.
Private graveside services will be held at Mount Airy Cemetery, 37 Mt. Airy Village Rd., on Wednesday April 1, 2015.under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to:
Wounded Warrior Project: Because Margie believed that, the courage, conviction, and sacrifice of those who risk their lives to protect America must never be taken for granted or forgotten, and must be repaid tenfold when they return and need help.
Farm Sanctuary, Watkins Glen N.Y.: because they are animals. Sweet, beautiful innocent creatures that have never hurt anyone in their lives. Margie adopted so many of these animals over the years I was almost going to name them as survivors.
