Mark R. Westpy, of Branchburg NJ, peacefully passed away in his home, on November 3, 2024. Born on March 29, 1959, in Belleville, NJ, son of the late Robert and Mary (Barnett) Westpy, Mark lived a life full of vibrant experiences and deep connections with those he loved.
Mark devoted his career to various sales positions, showcasing his exceptional ability to connect with people in industries ranging from solar systems to cleaning products. He was not only a dedicated salesman but also proudly owned and operated his own demolition and power washing companies. His passion for life was evident in everything he pursued, where he was known for his relentless enthusiasm and commitment.
An alumnus of the Class of 1977 from Belleville High School, Mark found joy in the simplest of pleasures and loved making memories, especially during sunny days at the beach, with Point Pleasant being a special place for him. He cherished his love of God, which guided him through life’s challenges and triumphs. An avid sports fan, his loyalty shone brightly as he cheered passionately for the NY Yankees, Giants, and NJ Devils.
Mark’s love for family was profound. He is survived by his four sons: Justin, Brandon, Bradley, and Bryan, along with a granddaughter, Esmeray. He is also survived by his former spouse, Marcella Westpy, and his brothers, Glen, Kevin, and Anthony, as well as his sister, Maria Stefanelli. All remain in deep appreciation of the times they shared with him.
In addition to his professional and familial accomplishments, Mark took pride in playing the drums in several garage bands, showcasing both his musical talent and his love for creativity. He had a knack for bringing people together, often delighting them with his famous marinara sauce and his joyful presence.
Mark had a zest for life beyond his career and family. He found solace and enjoyment in the roar of motors, whether on cars or motorcycles, and relished a good cocktail accompanied by a meal from Star Tavern Pizza in Orange, NJ. A good game of chess was a cherished pastime, and he could often be found listening to a mix of rock and Christian music while enjoying the simple pleasure of a piece of Reece's candy.
Though he has left this world, the memories of Mark's kindness, laughter, and warmth will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him. Mark R. Westpy will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched, reminding us to cherish every moment, lend a helping hand to those in need, and celebrate the joy of being together.
