Marlowe Selmer Furan

Marlowe "Marty" Selmer Furan, age 59 years, of West Amwell Township, NJ, died on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 in Capitol Health-Hopewell, NJ.

Born in Mobile, AL, September 12, 1955, he was the son of the late Jerome and Lucille Herndon Furan. He had resided in West Amwell for the past thirty years.

He was an avid Civil War Reenactor as a Sergeant with the 6th New York Artillery.

He held a Masters of Divinity, and was employed by the State of New Jersey Judiciary Branch.

Surviving are his wife of thirty-five years, Elizabeth Ann Barrick Furan; a brother and sister-in-love, Hugh and Jeanette Furan, of Old Fort, NC; a brother-in-love, Carl Barrick, of Gettysburg, PA; three step-brothers-in-love, Robert Miller, Glenn Miller, and Robert Adams; a niece, Jenny, and nephew, Christopher.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 3:30 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 1:30 PM until time of service in the funeral home.

Guests are encouraged to dress in yellow or purple in Marty's memory.
