Martin Romano

Martin Romano, age 83 years, of Erwinna, PA, died Friday, November 26, 2021, at his home. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, November 23, 1938, son of the late Joseph M. Romano and Alice Burget. Martin had resided Hunterdon County and then Erwinna, PA for the last 25 years. He was a well driller for thirty-five years starting with Somerville Well Drilling, then with B&E Well Drilling, subsequently with Stothoff Drilling, then Glen Lane Well Drilling and finally with Ziegenfuss Well Drilling until his retirement in 2004. Martin served in the US Navy on active duty from 1955-1957. Martin was a member of the National Rifle Association and an expert trap-shooter who won many awards for his marksmanship during his competitive career. An avid NASCAR fan, he loved motorcycles, spicey food and beer. He also loved hunting and was a talented craftsman especially with woodworking and masonry. Martin was also a faithful donor to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. He is survived by his companion Laura Arduini of 28 years, Tracy and Frank Ianiro, Ray and Alicia Arduini; his grandchildren, Kaitlin, Jessica, Nicholas and Patrick; his lifelong friends, John and Joyce Benson and many other family and friends. All arrangements and cremation will be private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
