Marvin G. Fleming, age 85 years, of Holtwood, PA, formerly of Holland Township, NJ, died on Sunday, April 9, 2006 at his residence.
Born in Little York, NJ, December 10, 1922, son of the late Romulus and Flora Snyder Fleming, Sr., he had formerly resided in Holland Township, NJ twenty-six years before moving to Holtwood, PA four months ago.
A former self-employed farmer, he was a retired truck driver for Kasper Disposal Service, Annandale, NJ.
Mr. Fleming was a member of the First United Church of Christ of Milford, NJ; a Charter member of delaware Valley Old-Time Equipment Club; a fifty-nine year member of Stanton Grange #148 and affiliate member of Spring Mills Grange #120 of Holland Township, NJ; a member of the Hunterdon County Pomona Grange; a member of the New Jersey State Grange where he was membership director for twelve years; and a member of the National Grange.
In addition, he was a former volunteer at the Holland Township Recycling Center, a former member of the Holland Township Planning Board and formerly served on the Hunterdon County Solid Waste Advisory Committee.
Five brothers, Philip, Nathan, Clifford, Luther and Herbert Fleming, a sister, Beulah Stamets, and a foster son, John Bolmer, all pre-deceased him.
Surviving are his wife, Elsie Hummer Fleming; a daughter and son-in-law, Harriet and John C. Harrison of Holtwood, PA; a foster daughter, Evelyn Poidevin of Holland Township, NJ, a foster daughter-in-law, Marsha Bolmer of Bridgeport, IL; a brother, Romulus Fleming, Jr. of Hampton, NJ; three grandchildren, Richard, Kathleen and Paul Harrison; six foster grandchildren; fourteen foster great-grandchildren; and two foster great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Newell Cemetery, Stanton, NJ.
