Mary B. Ritchie

Mary B. Ritchie, age 90, died Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Saucon Valley Manor in Hellertown PA, surrounded by her family.

Born July 10, 1927 in Ludlow MA, Mary was the daughter of the late James Hagan and Ann (Cox) Beatson. She lived much of her life in Piscataway Township, moving there in 1964 to raise her family before moving to Hunterdon County NJ in 2012.

Mary was a former parishioner of St. Francis Cabrini Church in Piscataway for many years and she taught ceramics at the adult education school in Bound Brook NJ as well. She also worked as a Claims Processor for Continental Insurance.

A kind, beautiful woman, Mary was very proud of her Scottish heritage and always found a way to find the silver lining in any situation. She played the piano, was an accomplished seamstress, and loved spending time with her lady friends for their monthly lunches in Piscataway for many years. Her family and friends will miss her terribly.

Predeceased by her husband, David Ritchie in 1997, Mary is survived by her daughter, Margaret Mikulicz of Pittstown NJ, her three sons, David Ritchie III, of Littleton CO, James Ritchie of Ewa Beach HI, Daniel Ritchie, of Macungie PA, her brother, Joseph Beatson of Biddeford ME, her seven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and her seven great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial and entombment officiated by Father Jack O’Kane will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Resurrection Mausoleum Chapel, Corner of Hoes Lane and Park Avenue, Piscataway Township, NJ 08854. Calling hours will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, October 13, 2017 at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington NJ.
