Mary C. Edgar

Mary C. Edgar, age 103 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Friday, January 12, 2007, in the Rolling Hills Care Center, Clinton Township, NJ.

Born in Reaville, NJ, March 18, 1903, she was the daughter of the late George R. and Zaidee Quick Kane. She had formerly resided in Cranford, NJ, and Virginia Beach, VA.

A homemaker, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Virginia Beach, VA; Virginia Beach Chapter #75, Order of the Eastern Star; charter member of Francis Land Chapter of the D.A.R., Virginia Beach, VA; Linlier Garden Club and Linkhorn Garden Club, both of Virginia Beach, VA; member of the Sunrise Circle of the Kings Daughters, and member of the Princess Ann Womans Club. She also volunteered for seventeen years at the Virginia Beach General Hospital.

Her husband, Russell S. Edgar, died in 1960. Surviving are a daughter, Pearl Lacey of Raritan Township, NJ, and several nieces and nephews. Her son-in-law, Lt. Commander Frank Lacey, United States Navy (Ret.), died in 1992.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at NOON in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 11 AM until time of service in the funeral home.
